Imbolc: The Return of the Light

Imbolc was officially yesterday, but I feel that these holidays and sabbats inform all the days that surround them.  After the harsh year I've had, I'd like to commemorate the return of the light.  Though dim and seemingly distant, the soft glow gives me hope.  Also I just realized, here we're seeing Persephone beginning her spring return from her descent into the underworld.

Trail of Breadcrumbs: Going Adult

Going with an adult rating will allow me to pursue some topics that I have shied away from and it will allow me to post all of the images that feel appropriate to Trail of Breadcrumbs.  Some things that I've wanted to post have ended up in other places due to nudity or strong themes when they should have been here all along.   I was going to postpone this declaration until later in the month, but today is a New Moon in Capricorn which is infinitely more auspicious for me than the Full Moon in Leo near the date I was thinking of originally.

You may not notice much of a change at first, as posts for the Trail are backlogged a bit, but look for the eventual return of From the Archives.  The work that is next on the plate to be scanned has a good bit of representational nudity.  The posts here may remain sporadic for awhile, but I feel that what is coming will be of a more consistent quality.  Thanks for reading and viewing!  I hope you will enjoy the change.

Spirit of the Grove

I've been reading The Golden Bough by James George Frazer.  It is some heavy reading and is taking me a little while to get through.  I've been reading it for several months now and I'm not even a third through.  I don't read a lot of it a once as I'm trying to digest it fully as I read so there is a lot of reflecting as I go.  The book focuses mainly on archaic nature religions.  It is an interesting view back into a time when the world was more green.
