Bridging the Gap

A connection flowers
from here now to the beyond.
Yearning bridges the distance.
Flowers bloom from one side to the other,
in between a chasm burns.
The urgency of union draws the gap closed.
The tension and volatility
will be crushed by the urge towards fulfillment.
Desire becomes its own answer.

In the Valley

In this piece we find a magickal force uncovered unexpectedly.  Astrologically not much going on today, but on Sunday the 16th,  Mercury (communication, information, and travel) will enter Libra (balance, justice, relating).  The movement of the messenger of the gods will get the ball rolling faster towards wrapping up things up in the Libra area of our lives.

The Trishula

Shiva's trident, the Trishula, is a weapon that destroys the physical world, the world of the forefathers, and the world of the mind.  Perhaps this destruction comes as a new understanding. A transformation of awareness that takes the dark loam of the earth and elevates it in the form of a flower.

Emissaries II: From the City of Light

Here we have a denizen from the City of Light arriving to greet us.  In the distance the city pyramids glow.

Sometimes you get really far out on the tree limb and you aren't sure if it is going to support your weight.  I've been doing a lot of that for the past two years more out of necessity than anything else.  It was either take some chances or wither to death slowly in the life I was leading.  If I am crazy, I'd rather be honest about what is in my heart than cover it up with some fabrication:

I have enormous scary thoughts that threaten to swallow myself and others.

I see people as minefields and make it my job to see through them because I have trust and control issues and am very easily damaged by the wayward words of others.  

I'm afraid of large crowds because it is easy for me to lose my sense of self and therefore lose control of the beast I call "me".

Reabsorbtion of the Ego

Here is the Ego being absorbed back into its source.  The Ego, such a tiny mask for the much larger force of Consciousness.  This piece for me revolves around the movement of and the power of Neptune in Pisces.  Which,by the way, Neptune just went retrograde on the 4th of June.

A much older piece, I believe from the late 1990's.   I no longer own the physical piece so I cannot check the date.  In fact, the colors here are a little over saturated as I scanned this from a copy of the piece.  Thematically, a revelation to myself here of an expanding understanding of my personal interconnectedness, conscious to subconscious.

Chokmah, King of Jesters

I have to admit, even for me, this one is pretty vague.  I think it may be more a statement on the time period it was created in that the actual piece itself.  I kind of felt like I was the butt of some universal joke during the holidays this past year.  Honestly, I'm surprised this piece isn't darker.

It Comes Through

This thing is big,
I open myself to let it through.
I peel back like a glove,
like a the skin of an orange.
I thought myself dead
in this transformation,
but I am prologue
to the things that come through me.
I am the lantern
and the light comes
and the light comes through me.
I am just the first word.
I am just the match.
I am just a doorway.
I am just a window
and the light comes through.

The High Priestess

Upon completing this, I immediately thought of The High Preistess card from the Tarot.  I really don't have much to bring other than that, but it was my first thought with this.

The Lord of the Forest

I worked on this one throughout much of the end of the summer of 2011, but it did not resolve itself until winter had begun.  Some images of the Green man lurking in there, but also Cernunnos, Pan, and Baphomet.  Like the limbs of one great tree, the Lord of the Forest has many names and faces.
