The Trishula

Shiva's trident, the Trishula, is a weapon that destroys the physical world, the world of the forefathers, and the world of the mind.  Perhaps this destruction comes as a new understanding. A transformation of awareness that takes the dark loam of the earth and elevates it in the form of a flower.

Dark thoughts and feelings, transformed by the processes of nature, create unfolding forms of beauty.  Transformation, so often considered extreme, overwhelming, and destructive can come as a gentle touch.  The delicate opening of a flower is the culmination of a great metamorphosis, a yearning toward continuation.  Desire changes everything.
