From the Archives: Night is Come (Alternate Ending)

 

Here is Night is Come as it was originally published, with the alternate ending of three added pages.  There was a bit of time between the creation of the two endings leading to a few stylistic differences.

When Neptune moved into Pisces earlier this year, I noticed an immediate disruption of my ability to communicate.  Everything became distracted and complicated in some fashion.  It wasn't the disruption that comes with say, a Mercury retrograde.  The effect was a complication, a confusion of the purity of intentions.

This set was created a long time ago.  It was self-published in a small ashcan comic with another story, Winter.  This was another attempt on my part to marry poetry and comics...as well as a bit of spiritual philosophy.  I've never felt like I've ever gotten it quite right, but this is the closest I feel I've ever come.  The first two images are some of my favorite things I've ever drawn.

The Totemic Stag

Here is a Horned God image for the tail end of  Lughnasadh / Lammas (August 1st), first of the three harvest sabbats in the Wheel of the year.  In the end, another image of Baphomet, this time presented as a totemic Stag.  Another nod here as well to Susan Seddon Boulet.

The Trishula

Shiva's trident, the Trishula, is a weapon that destroys the physical world, the world of the forefathers, and the world of the mind.  Perhaps this destruction comes as a new understanding. A transformation of awareness that takes the dark loam of the earth and elevates it in the form of a flower.
